Advent Day 2, 3, 4, 5....

HOLD YOUR STONES!! Don't throw them just yet. I know, I know. I'm sorry for forgetting to post about our days of Advent. Be proud of me. We actually have been doing something each day...I just forgot to tell you what we did. So, here we go.

Day 2 - Photos. We took a few pictures and when I find my cable, I will upload them for you to see. :) In the meantime, look at this family photo we had taken recently. Photobucket

Day 3 - Make paper snowflakes. These didn't turn out too good. Photobucket

Day 4 - Assemble puzzle. Ahhh. We have a 1,000 piece puzzle on the coffee table and are assembling it daily.
Day 5 - Make Christmas Cards. YAY! Success. Bethany & I made three cute cards using cardstock, scrapbook paper, a black Sharpie, adhesive, and buttons!! We probably should make more. :)

Day 6 - Mail Christmas Cards. Ok, ok. We didn't do this. Figured we'd hand deliver them instead. To church family. Because we're cheap. :)

Today is Day 7. :) We're going to make a new Christmas decoration today. :) And since I'm going out of town tomorrow, I might or might not leave you hanging...again. Please forgive me. :) You know you love me. :)

Advent Day 1

I'm going to be a day off it looks like, but that's ok. I'm flexible. :) Yesterday was Day 1 on our Advent Calendar. The activity was "Pray together." So, Tom and I, along with our six kids, made a circle and held hands. We all took turns to pray wonderful, thoughtful prayers. Each child being reverent and respectful for each other and so loving and kind. <insert album screech here> Wait! That's not how it happened? Well, no, not really. It was my PLAN but my kids are well, my kids, and it was more like this...

"God, thank you for this day." <good so far, right?!> then "Thank you for letting us help the less needy children." <ahem! I think they mean "less fortunate"> "Thank you for candy and please help Wesley because he's about to squeeze my hand off." <loving siblings> "Thank you for letting the kids obey." <hahaha> <Insert kids laughing sporadically here and one child saying "Watch out for the llamas. They spit." So, yeah, thankfully God has a sense of humor and I'm sure he was smiling at our family last night. I'd rather have him smiling then sending lightening bolts!! :)

Today is Day 2 so we will be taking Christmas pictures. We'll see how that goes. :)
